No. BetterMoslim works fully offline as a guest — all your data is stored on your device. Creating an account is optional and unlocks cloud sync across multiple devices and access to certain premium features. You can always upgrade later without losing any data.
On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot password?" and enter your email. You'll receive a 6-digit OTP code to verify your identity, then you can set a new password directly in the app — no need to open a browser or email link.
Yes. Sign in with the same account on any device and your data syncs automatically. The app uses a pull-then-push sync protocol — it syncs when you open the app, when you resume from background, and every 15 minutes while active.
The free plan includes: daily WRR tracker (up to 2 behaviors per area), the Wheel of Life snapshot, weekly reviews, prayer times, all adhkar (morning, evening, post-prayer, tasbeeh counter), 3 banner goals, Quran progress tracker, Sunnah fasting tracker, and full Arabic support. Prayer times are calculated using the Aladhan API based on your location. If they seem off:
Go to Settings → Prayer Times and check your calculation method. Different scholars use different methods (e.g., Muslim World League, ISNA, Egyptian). Try switching to the method used by your local mosque.
Make sure location permissions are granted for the app.
If you're in a high-latitude region, you may need a specific Fajr/Isha calculation method for your area.
Go to the Profile tab → Settings → Language and select your preferred language. The app currently supports English, Arabic, French, German, Spanish, and Turkish. The entire UI switches instantly — including RTL layout for Arabic.
Each life area score is a hybrid: 50% from your actual behavior tracking data (how consistently you're completing behaviors in that area) and 50% from your self-assessment rating during reviews. This balances objective tracking with your personal sense of how you're doing in each area.
Yes. Go to Settings → Data Management → Export Data. This exports all your data (goals, behaviors, logs, reviews, du'as, etc.) as a JSON file you can save or transfer. You can also import a previous backup from the same screen. PDF exports of your reviews and Wheel of Life are available from those respective screens (Premium).
All adhkar (morning, evening, post-prayer, du'as) are sourced from established Islamic references via the islambook.com dataset and bundled locally so they work offline. Each dhikr includes the Arabic text, transliteration, English translation, and virtue (فضل). If you find any error or inaccuracy, please report it to content@bettermoslim.com
Learning mode shows Arabic text + transliteration + English translation + the virtue (reward/benefit) of each dhikr. Ideal for those who are learning the adhkar or prefer to read the meaning.
Practice mode shows Arabic only with a counter — no transliteration or translation. Faster flow for those who know the adhkar by heart. Switch between modes anytime in Settings.
Yes. Your du'a journal is encrypted at rest and no one at BetterMoslim can read your entries. They are stored locally on your device and, if you have an account, synced to our servers in encrypted form. We treat your private du'as with the reverence they deserve.
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This will immediately delete all local data and schedule permanent deletion of your cloud data within 30 days. Vision board images stored on our servers are deleted immediately. This action is irreversible — make sure to export your data first if you want to keep it.
